A motorcyclist has passed away in the hospital after a collision involving three vehicles on Monday afternoon in Scarborough, according to Toronto police.
Officers say they were alerted about a multi-vehicle crash that included a motorcycle near Markham Road and Nugget Avenue just before 2 p. m. on Monday.
A 53-year-old woman driving a Ford Fusion turned left into a driveway on Nugget Avenue and hit a motorcycle rider, a 42-year-old man, who was coming from the opposite direction, police reported in a news release on Tuesday.
The woman then collided with another parked vehicle in the driveway, which had a 25-year-old man inside, authorities said. All three vehicles remained at the scene.
The motorcyclist was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead later that evening, according to police.
The woman driving the Ford suffered minor injuries and was also taken to the hospital, while the 25-year-old driver was unharmed.
This incident is under investigation, and police are asking anyone who may have dash cam or security footage of the area or incident to reach out to them.
Roads nearby were temporarily shut down on Monday as per police reports.
