Lambton College is teaming up with two other Ontario institutions to enhance equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) training within research settings.
The Sarnia-Lambton college has recently received a $100,000 grant from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada’s Dimensions program.
Lambton College was one of just two colleges across Canada, and the only one in Ontario, to earn this funding.
During this year-long project, Lambton College will collaborate with Fanshawe College and Mohawk College to evaluate existing training practices, jointly create improved training programs, and showcase mentorship techniques.
“This investment reflects our shared commitment to building inclusive environments where all individuals can thrive,” said Senior Vice President of Academic and Student Success Dr. Dave Machacek. “Being selected as one of only two colleges in Canada to lead a Dimensions Grant project is a significant achievement that recognizes the strength of our applied research leadership and our commitment to embedding EDI into research practices in meaningful and measurable ways.”
In total, 11 Dimensions Grants were distributed nationwide. The program aims to assist postsecondary institutions in advancing EDI initiatives.
