OTTAWA, Ontario – The Ottawa Charge are heading back to the Walter Cup Final for the second consecutive year.

Michela Cava scored at 1:12 of the second overtime, leading Ottawa to a 4-3 victory over the Boston Fleet, and clinching the best-of-five semifinal series in just four games.

Last season, Ottawa fell short in the final against the Minnesota Frost.

The Charge will face off against whoever wins the Montreal Victoire-Frost series, which will wrap up with Monday’s Game 5.

Sarah Wozniewicz, Rebecca Leslie, and Brooke Hobson also contributed goals for Ottawa. Goaltender Gwyneth Philips had an impressive game with 43 saves.

Shay Maloney, Megan Keller, and Sophie Shirley found the net for the Fleet. Aerin Frankel made 29 saves in goal.

After losing their opening match, Ottawa bounced back to win three straight. Boston hadn’t lost three games in a row all season long.

Cava redirected a Katerina Mrazova shot to score the winning goal.

The two teams combined for five goals in the second period alone, ending that frame tied at 3-3 after 40 minutes of play.

Ottawa jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in that period. Jenner took a sharp-angle shot from below the goal line that deflected off Leslie’s skate as she fought for position near the crease. The play was reviewed but ultimately ruled a goal.

The Fleet then responded with three quick goals within just 1:33 to take a brief lead of 3-2.
