Frank enjoyed his last Thanksgiving dinner on Sunday at his cottage on Bird Lake in Muskoka, followed by a campfire down by the waterfront that evening. It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of his passing on Monday, October 11, 2010, at the Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare Centre in Bracebridge. His death was unexpected, but we are grateful that it was peaceful. He was a loving husband to Nancy Ruddle-Hodson and the late Elsie Hodson. Frank will be fondly remembered by his children Michael, Peter (Lisa), Stephen (Karen), David (Grace), and Kacey (Antonio). He was a proud poppa and grandpa to Alison, Victoria, Taylor, James, Maria, Isabella, Ella, and Sebastian. Frank was also a dear brother to Jim (Jaquie) of England. His family isn’t the only one who will miss him; his dog Rufus will surely feel the absence during their daily walks together. Frank served as a choir director for St. Patrick’s Parish in Burlington and was currently part of the Holy Rosary Choir in Burlington. Visitation will be held at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stop light north of QEW) BURLINGTON, (905-632-3333) on Wednesday and Thursday from 7-9 p. m. Vigil prayers for Frank are scheduled for Thursday at 7 p. m. at the Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will take place at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church located at 287 Plains Road East in Burlington on Friday, October 15, 2010 at 10 a. m., with private interment afterward. A reception will follow at the Church. In lieu of flowers, donations made in memory of Frank to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to Holy Rosary Roof Fund would be greatly appreciated by his family.
