Carol Janet Williams (Geddes), 76, of Nipigon, Ontario, passed away on February 16, 2026. She was surrounded by her loud (but loving) family at Nipigon Memorial Hospital after battling a prolonged illness. Carol was born on August 17, 1949, in Port Arthur, Ontario, to Freeburn and Agnes Geddes (Pollard). She grew up in the Port Arthur area and attended Vance Chapman Elementary School and Lakeview High School. Throughout her life, Carol shared her many skills with the community by working as a hairdresser, waitress, and short order cook in various local restaurants. She met her soulmate, Grant Williams, at the Fall Fishing Festival Dance and together they built a wonderful life centered around family and community. Carol had a passion for cooking and baking; she was always happiest when preparing meals and treats for those she loved. She enjoyed spending time out at camp on the pontoon boat with her close friend Lady Di. A proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion Auxiliary Branch 32 (Nipigon) for over 40 years, she held many executive roles including serving as president for 12 terms. Her dedication and leadership made a significant impact within the Legion community. Carol is predeceased by her birth mother Agnes Geddes; her father Freeburn Geddes; her brother John (Butch) Geddes; along with her mother-in-law Lorraine Williams and father-in-law Ross Williams. She is fondly remembered by her mother Margaret Geddes; husband Grant Williams; daughters Tammy and Shelley (Pat); grandchildren Mason Mc Cauley (Jenna) and Adam Mc Cauley(Lindsey); great-granddaughter Skyla; sister Diane Erickson (Ralph); sisters-in-law Shirley Jean (Marcel) and Sinikka Geddes; along with numerous nieces and nephews including Graham Erickson (Melanie), Jennifer Burns (Matt), Rodney Geddes, Ross Jean (Courtney), Terry Jean (Kelsey), as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews. A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, February 28th/26 from 1 PM to 4 PM at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 32 in Nipigon. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the doctors and nurses at Nipigon Memorial Hospital as well as those at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre for their care and compassion during this time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Royal Canadian Legion Branch 32 Nipigon, Nipigon Memorial Hospital or a charity of your choice.

Condolences may be made through www. nwfainc. com.
