Ruth Johns tragically lost her life in a car accident on Wednesday evening, February 18, 2026, at the age of 20.
She was a loving daughter to Monique (De Vos) & Jason Johns.
A dear sister to Hannah, Sarah & Tim Weber, Joshua, Caleb, Phebe, Abigail, Tabitha, Miriam, and Suzanna.
A beloved granddaughter of Andy & Anne De Vos and Elisa der Weduwe.
She will be greatly missed by her aunts and uncles: Richard & Ruth-ann De Vos and their children Elijah, Talia, Enoch, and Isabella; as well as Joshua & Tracey Johns with their kids Allyson and Charlotte.
She was predeceased by her grandparents Tom & Linda Johns.
Ruth grew up on a homestead in Northern Ontario where she developed a passion for the outdoors. From an early age, she loved nature walks, mountain hikes, and fishing. She also had a fondness for big diesel trucks and enjoyed motorsports-anything that offered excitement.
Kind-hearted and caring, Ruth always took time to create special moments with each sibling. She had an amazing ability to make life fun and was always ready for an adventure. Her love for family shone through in countless thoughtful gestures-like making sure her mom always had flowers on the kitchen table and checking in often with her siblings to ensure they were okay.
In recent years, Ruth enjoyed living in Milverton with her roommate Adrianna. She worked at a café in Bluevale-a job she truly cherished.
Her warm spirit touched many lives and she will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.
