The Ontario Provincial Police are trying to find someone who called 911 over the weekend from Dalewood Conservation Area, located just north of St. Thomas.
Elgin County OPP reported that local paramedics reached out around 2 a. m. Sunday after being unable to locate a person who had called in while in distress at the nature area in Central Elgin.
Police, along with the OPP Canine Unit and Emergency Response Team, have been searching for this individual.
In a statement released late Sunday morning, authorities indicated there would be more police officers present in the area as they continued their search for the caller. It’s not clear if police stayed at the scene on Monday.
“If you are the person who called for help or know who it was, please contact Elgin County OPP at 1-888-310-1122,” police said.
