Southern Ontario is bracing for a winter storm that will bring freezing rain, snow, and ice pellets to the Greater Toronto Area.
Environment Canada has issued weather warnings across the GTA and much of southern Ontario as a low-pressure system approaches on Wednesday.
This morning may see snow or freezing rain, with ice accumulations reaching up to 5 cm in Toronto, Mississauga, and Brampton. In Oshawa and Pickering, accumulations could be between 10 cm to 15 cm.
The Niagara Falls area might get up to 20 mm of rain.
The high temperature will be around -1 C in Mississauga, accompanied by winds gusting up to about 50 km/h. Toronto Pearson Airport has cautioned that flight delays and cancellations are likely.
This evening is expected to bring more snow or freezing rain mixed with ice pellets to the GTA, followed by a 60 percent chance of freezing drizzle. The low temperature will hover around -2 C in Mississauga but may feel closer to -7 C due to wind chill.
Looking forward to Thursday, expect cloudy skies with a high of 2 C and a 40 percent chance of drizzle in the evening along with a low of -2 C.
