One person has died after an industrial accident in Vaughan on Thursday, according to York Regional Police.

Police received a call about the incident just after 2:30 p. m.

A large slab of concrete fell on an employee at a manufacturing facility near Keele Street and Teston Road, police told CBC Toronto.

A 63-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The Ministry of Labour confirmed to CBC Toronto in an emailed statement that it was notified of a workplace incident in the Maple area of Vaughan on Thursday and that an inspector from the ministry has been assigned to look into it.
