Since many people won’t be working on Monday, several offices and businesses will either be closed or have limited hours.Here’s what services and municipal offices in Kingston will be affected by Family Day:
There won’t be any garbage or green bin collection on Monday. Collection will occur one day after your usual pick-up day. You can register at Cityof Kingston. ca/Collection to get collection reminders via phone or email – or download the free “Kingston Waste” app available for both Apple and Android devices. Administrative offices like Housing and Social Services as well as Provincial Offences Court located on Montreal Street are closed on Monday.
If customers have an emergency regarding utilities such as gas leaks or power outages they should reach out through Utilities Kingston’s emergency line at 613-546-1181 around-the-clock.
Recreation facilities:INVISTA Centre programming is available from 8 a. m. until 8 p. m. Artillery Park Aquatic Centre opens its doors from 8 a. m. until 8 p. m. Rideau Heights Community Centre operates between those same hours as well (8 a. m.-8 p. m.). This hasn’t loaded yet but continues below.
Kingston East Community Centre is also open between those hours – note that fitness center closes at 7:45 p. m.
. All branches of the Kingston Frontenac Public Library will remain closed during this holiday-however some services along with digital collections are accessible online.

All LCBO stores along with The Beer Store locations are shut down. Cataraqui Centre won’t operate. Walmart remains closed. Costco Wholesale is shut. Both Loblaws locations won’t be operating. Both No Frills stores are also shut down. All Metro outlets stay closed. Food Basics doesn’t open either. Farm Boy remains shut too. However Foodland situated within Amherstview operates between7a. m. and10 p. m.. Fresh Co isn’t opening. Van Wart’s Your Independent Grocer isn’t operating either Most Shoppers Drug Marts plan to open their doors Monday though specific timings may differ-call ahead for info if needed.
