Marian Russell passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, April 8, 2014, surrounded by her family’s love in her 76th year. She was the devoted wife of the late James ‘Jim’ Russell. Marian was a caring mother to James (Lori Cook), Thomas (Angela Hallyburton), and Andrea Russell. She will be forever missed by her grandchildren Colin, Wyatt, Xander, Kamryn, Sydney, and Lucie Pearl. Marian is survived by her brother John Mac Quarrie (Selma Shearer) and son-in-law Jonny Kearns; she was predeceased by her sister-in-law Marilyn Mac Quarrie. A graduate of Victoria College at the University of Toronto, Marian taught at CCI for over 30 years. Her commitment to the community and the arts was evident through her work with Theatre Collingwood. Many will remember her fondly. Visitation is set for Friday, April 11, 2014, from 2-4 & 7-9 p. m. at Fawcett Funeral Home – Collingwood Chapel. The funeral service will be held at Trinity United Church on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 3 p. m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Theatre Collingwood or Hospice Georgian Triangle would be appreciated.
