Anna Maniaci (née Flores) passed away peacefully on March 26, 2026, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 84. She was the beloved wife of Baldassare Maniaci, with whom she shared 65 wonderful years of marriage. Anna was a devoted mother to Antonino Maniaci (Deborah), Maria Maniaci, and Francesca Maniaci (Dominique). She was a proud and adored Nonna to Stephanie Allen (Kyle), Serena Maniaci, Mitchell Maniaci, and Lucas Stergianis, and a cherished Great-Nonna to Myles Allen and Logan Allen. She was a loving sister to Vito Flores (Sandy) and Rosa Galante (Paolo). She will also be fondly remembered by her many cousins, nieces, and nephews in Canada, the United States, and Sicily. Anna was predeceased by her cherished parents, Paolo Flores and Francesca Flores, and by her beloved sister, Rosalia Bonventre, and brother-in-law, Salvatore Bonventre.
Anna had an incredible talent for cooking and baking that blossomed after she arrived in Canada in 1961. Though she didn’t know how to cook when she first came here, she quickly learned the craft and made it her mission to make sure that her family-and anyone who visited-felt welcome and well-fed. Preparing meals brought her great joy as did teaching others how to cook; seeing people enjoy food made with love filled her with pride. She particularly excelled at making Italian dishes like pizza, spingi, cannoli, and cassateddi. Her beautiful cookie trays were always a highlight at family bridal showers, baby showers, and weddings.
Her warmth, generosity, and dedication to her family will be deeply missed but always remembered.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Brouillette Manor and Windsor Regional Hospital – Metropolitain Campus (7th Floor) for their exceptional care, compassion, and support.
Visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home (CENTRAL) 519-253-7234, 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E., on Monday, March 30, 2026 from 2:00pm – 5:00pm and 7:00pm – 9:00pm. A chapel service will take place on Tuesday March 31 at 10:30am at the funeral home followed by entombment at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. After the entombment service ends friends are invited to join for lunch at the Caboto Club where they can celebrate Anna’s life share memories together.
In lieu of flowers donations to Brouillette Manor Long-Term Care Home would be greatly appreciated.
