Waterloo Regional Police have announced that they’ve charged a vice-principal in connection with a child luring and sexual exploitation case.
Authorities report that 50-year-old Michel Pleau was taken into custody on Friday after an investigation involving police from Waterloo, Toronto, and Sudbury.
The suspect faces six charges, including possession, production, and distribution of child sexual assault and abuse material, invitation to sexual touching, and luring a child under 16 years old.
Police say they’ve informed the school board where Pleau works about his arrest.
The Waterloo Catholic District School Board has stated it will work together with law enforcement and is focused on supporting its community.
According to police, the alleged offenses do not involve students from the school board.
