A Lakeshore woman is having a joyful holiday season.

Brankica Papic from Stoney Point took part in the Ontario 49 game for the December 27, 2025 draw and won the second prize of $50,000.

Papic received her winner’s cheque at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto.

“The numbers I like to play are special to me because they’re based on the birthdays of family members,” said Papic, a 20-year lottery player. “I saw $50,000 appear on the screen and scanned my ticket over and over again in shock and disbelief.”

Papic intends to use her winnings to settle some bills and save for future needs.

She bought her lucky ticket at the Comber Food Market on Main Street.

Ontario 49 is drawn every Wednesday and Saturday. Players can choose combinations with five, seven, eight, or nine numbers.
