One person has died and at least one other is seriously injured following a crash on Highway 17 close to Renfrew in eastern Ontario.

Highway 17 between Storyland Road and Bruce Street, just north of Renfrew, is currently shut down for the investigation. The OPP has advised motorists to expect a prolonged road closure and suggests finding an alternate route.

The collision occurred around 10 a. m., but no additional details about the incident have been released yet.
