Brampton residents will soon have an additional option for their driver tests and licensing.
A new Ontario Drive Test Centre is expected to open at Shoppers World Brampton later this year, providing locals with better access to driver testing services.
“Drive Test is on the way to Shoppers World Brampton, making it easier to access driver licensing and testing close to home,” the mall said on its website. “We’re excited to keep growing for the future and bringing new services to the community we call home.”
Drive Test, a private company sanctioned by the Ontario Ministry of Transportation, oversees driver licensing and examinations throughout the province.
At this new site, customers can take vision tests, written knowledge exams, and road tests for various vehicle classes like cars, motorcycles, and commercial vehicles.
New drivers can walk in for G1 multiple-choice tests, while G2 and full G road tests require an appointment. These assessments check essential driving skills such as merging onto highways, turning, and parking.
Currently, Brampton has only one Drive Test centre located at 59 First Gulf Blvd., Unit 9.
Residents who need to renew their licenses can still visit Service Ontario locations around the city including spots at 125 Chrysler Drive, 10 Peel Centre Drive, 1 Wexford Road and 8850 Mc Laughlin Road South.
An official opening date for the new Drive Test location has not yet been announced.
