Greater Toronto Area

If you’re looking to celebrate New Year’s Eve 2026, the Greater Toronto Area has plenty of options, from Mississauga and Brampton to downtown Toronto, with exciting events happening all around.

Lights, illumination and New Year’s Eve fireworks

The City of Toronto hosts its annual full-scale New Year’s Eve fireworks along the downtown waterfront. There will be pop-up performances and entertainment starting at 10:00 p. m. at different locations by the waterfront. Some great spots to watch include Harbourfront Centre, Harbour Square Park, Sugar Beach Park, and HTO Park.

You can enjoy ice skating under the sparkling lights of the Cavalcade of Lights display at Nathan Phillips Square before making your way to see the fireworks.

Stroll through the Winter Village at the Distillery District and take in the magical winterland experience along with a cinematic show at Illuminarium (tickets are required).

Downtown celebrations

Keep an eye out for themed parties and events at some of Toronto’s trendiest restaurants, nightclubs, and lounges.

Ring in the new year amidst a beautiful candlelit setting at Zero Bar Luminous New Year’s Eve Party, which is Canada’s first non-alcoholic cocktail bar located on Carlton Street. Your ticket includes two unique zero-proof holiday cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.

If you’re after a luxurious evening filled with multi-course dining paired with live music and DJ sets, join in at JADE Yorkville. Over on Queen Street, Soluna will host a Brazilian-themed bash while Rebel at Polson Pier plans a massive New Year’s Eve celebration.

Get dressed up for an elegant night out at Hotel X for their Gatsby-themed event or grab a pass for the King Street West All-Access NYE Party that lets you enter various participating nightclubs.

You won’t want to miss rooftop parties like “Broadview After Dark” at The Broadview Hotel or “Denim and Disco” on Lavelle’s rooftop on King West. Enjoy an exquisite meal high above at LOUIX LOUIS located on the 31st floor of The St. Regis Hotel.

For LGBTQI+ events in Toronto this New Year’s Eve check out Buddies NYE: Queen Eden for an entertaining night featuring drag shows, burlesque acts, and DJ music over at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre or attend Hide and Seek-a queer WLW party designed for 2SLGBTQIA+ women and allies.

New Year’s Eve cruises

Cruise through Toronto’s famous skyline as it lights up against the night sky.

The Jubilee Queen Cruise Lines offers a 19+ New Year’s Eve boat cruise departing from Queens Quay complete with snacks, DJ tunes, and festive party favors.

Celebration Square in Mississauga

The popular annual gathering takes place at Celebration Square in Mississauga-a fun-filled free event suitable for everyone!

This year’s highlights include live performances from emerging Canadian artists along with global sounds; there’ll also be ice skating followed by stunning fireworks right when midnight strikes!

Garden Square in Brampton

Brampton’s Garden Square kicks off its New Year’s Eve festivities starting from 7:00 p. m.

This free event features talented musicians performing live alongside local food vendors plus family-friendly activities like outdoor skating wrapping up with an impressive fireworks show!
