A 53-year-old man from Vaughan, Ontario, is facing charges after allegedly threatening a child during a soccer match earlier this month.

York Regional Police announced on Monday that they have charged him with one count of making threats in connection to an incident that occurred on June 20.

At about 10 p. m. that evening, a youth soccer game was taking place at a field near Dufferin Street and Highway 407. The accused, who is the parent of one of the players, reportedly made a threat against a player on the opposing team, which led to the game’s conclusion, according to police.
