The Ontario Hockey League has imposed a fine on the Soo Greyhounds due to an incident that took place during Game 2 of their first-round playoff series against the London Knights, which involved a TV camera in the penalty box.

The Soo Greyhounds have received a fine from the Ontario Hockey League following an event during game two of their first round playoff series against the London Knights on Sunday.

The team was fined $2,500 after defenceman Chase Reid covered a television camera in the visitor penalty box with his stick and then used a towel over it during the second period of play.

The OHL office confirmed this fine in an email to Soo Today on Monday night.

This isn’t the first time that fines have been handed out by the league for similar actions.

The choice to impose a fine rather than a suspension came after reviewing past incidents, including one involving Nathan Villeneuve, who was then with the Sudbury Wolves, during a game against the Kingston Frontenacs in March 2025, as well as another involving Rodwin Dionicio in last season’s Western Conference final between Saginaw Spirit and London.

Back in 2016, Sudbury Wolves forward Zach Wilkie faced suspension for an incident related to a penalty box camera.
