PERRUZO-Heidi (nee Elmauer)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Heidi on January 21, 2026, at Windsor Regional Hospital – Metropolitan Campus. She was a loving and devoted wife to Elver, sharing 53 wonderful years together. Heidi was a caring mother to Brad, Brian (Natalie), and Nicole, and a proud Nonna to Liam, James, Jack, and Nora. She was the beloved daughter of the late Franz and Magdalena Elmauer. She is survived by her dear brother Erwin (Wendy) Elmauer and sister-in-law Mary Ann (Ross) Ienna. Heidi also leaves behind cherished nieces and nephews: Heather (Jason), Jessica (Luis), David (Kelly), Kerry, and Erik (Arianne). Additionally, she was a loving daughter-in-law to Emma D’Andrea (Achille) nee Peruzzo (Emilio) and a stepsister to the late Valentino D’Andrea (Wendy) as well as the late John D’Andrea (Kate). Many relatives and friends will feel her absence deeply, especially her long-time friend Dona Asciak.

Heidi had a special way with dogs; just ask Lucy, Nicole’s dog, who never left her side. As a mother and grandmother, she was unstoppable-loyal, dedicated, giving. She celebrated our family milestones while sometimes playing the role of “trophy wife,” even when it came with its challenges. Truly though, she was vital in keeping our family close-knit and helping us achieve our goals. In her professional life as part of Walter Francic Professional Corporation in chartered accounting, her exceptional organizational skills stood out alongside her ability to connect with others-qualities that earned her much respect from both colleagues and clients.

I look up at the sky wishing for her love to shine down on us all. Goodbye my love; you’ll always be my edelweiss.

Visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Banwell Chapel) 11677 Tecumseh Rd E. (519)253-7235 on Monday January 26, 2026 from 2 to 5pm and again from 7 to 9pm. There will be prayers at 4:30pm on Monday. Family and friends are invited on Tuesday January 27, 2026 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church (834 Raymo Rd) starting at 9:30am before the funeral mass at 10am. Cremation will follow.

In memory of Heidi, donations can be made to Autism Ontario or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Online condolences along with treasured memories may be shared with her family at www. windsorchapel. com
