According to the Ontario Provincial Police, a driver from Brampton is in trouble after his dump truck, with its box raised, crashed into an overpass on Highway 400.
The accident took place early Friday around 2:30 a. m. in the southbound collector lanes at Langstaff Road in Vaughan.
As of 8:30 a. m., those lanes are still closed while police await a bridge inspector to assess the safety of the overpass. They mentioned that the closure could last for some time as repairs may be necessary.
Photos from the site show the dump truck’s bin wedged under the overpass, leaving a dark scratch and a dent on the bridge structure.
Authorities stated that the dump truck’s bin was elevated during the collision. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
A 32-year-old man from Brampton has been charged with careless driving and operating an “overheight vehicle.”

The on-ramp from westbound Langstaff Road is currently closed, but drivers can still use the on-ramp from eastbound Langstaff Road.
