One year after a 22-year-old man disappeared at a ski resort north of Montreal, both police and his family are still hopeful that someone will step forward with information to help find him.

This past Saturday, Kathleen Toman, her daughter, and some friends gathered in Mont-Tremblant to hand out lip balm, pamphlets, and wristbands near the area where Liam Toman went missing during a ski trip with friends.

“Somebody does know something, we truly believe that,” Kathleen Toman shared in a phone interview. “I know we’re going to be able to solve this to bring Liam home.”

The Quebec provincial police established a command post at the location, alongside billboards displaying images of the smiling young man who vanished almost without a trace.

Liam Toman was last seen leaving a restaurant in Mont-Tremblant around 3 a. m. on February 2, 2025, after an evening out.

His family states he was captured on camera walking back toward his hotel but there’s no footage showing him returning inside. A final call and text were sent from his phone around 3:15 a. m., and since then he hasn’t accessed his bank account or used social media or his phone.

The following month, his wallet was found near a parking lot within the resort; however, searches by air, land, and water did not yield any further signs of him.

Police spokesperson Marc Tessier mentioned that setting up the command post now is crucial because tourists who were present during Toman’s disappearance may be returning this year for their annual visits.

“We know that Mont-Tremblant is a major tourist station, so maybe there are people who came last year at the same time who are back this year,” he explained.

Kathleen Toman urged anyone who visited the resort during her son’s disappearance to check their photos and discuss any conversations they might remember that could provide relevant details-no matter how small.

<p“ We just want any type of clues that can lead us to some answers and help the police put together where Liam is,” she said.

The emotions she has experienced over the past year are hard for her to express but she feels thankful for all the community support.

<p“It’s so surreal, this situation, and we’re all working closely together to keep pushing for answers,” she said.

Toman mentioned she’s also advocating for improved lighting and security in Tremblant village and received confirmation on Saturday that plans are being developed.

Liam Toman is described as five-foot-nine inches tall weighing 130 pounds with light brown hair and hazel eyes. When he went missing he was wearing a black coat with dark green accents, black pants, a green plaid sweater, and a white striped toque.

A reward of $50,000 is being offered for information leading police directly to him.
