If you love pasta, get ready! The popular American eatery Olive Garden is set to make its much-anticipated return to Ontario this summer, launching two new spots, one of which will be at Vaughan Mills.
Recipe Restaurant Group International, based in Vaughan, revealed back in July that it had taken over all eight Olive Garden locations in Canada from Darden Restaurants Inc.
The financial details of the deal weren’t shared, but it included a pact giving Recipe exclusive rights to open new Olive Garden restaurants across Canada.
As part of their growth plan, Recipe confirmed last week that the first new Olive Garden under its management will open at Vaughan Mills, followed by another location in Westboro Village in Ottawa.
Both venues are currently being developed and should be ready sometime this summer. So if you’re craving those freshly baked breadsticks and endless pasta bowls, you won’t need to cross the U. S. border anymore!
More locations are on the way and are “in various stages of planning,” with announcements expected in the upcoming months as the brand continues expanding throughout Canada.
Olive Garden used to have nearly a dozen locations in Ontario during the 1990s but completely disappeared from the scene by the end of that decade. Currently, their restaurants in Canada can be found in Langley, Calgary, Edmonton, Regina, Saskatoon, and Winnipeg.
Recipe operates over 1,000 restaurants featuring several popular brands across Canada like Swiss Chalet, Harvey’s, Montana’s, New York Fries, Kelsey’s, East Side Mario’s, and The Pickle Barrel.
