Environment Canada issued a “yellow” level storm warning on Wednesday for Kingston and nearby areas as a winter storm approached. On Thursday, it hit Eastern Ontario with heavy snow and strong winds.

This article outlines that after nearly a week of mild weather conditions, winter made a comeback late Wednesday night with around five centimetres of snow falling over greater Kingston. An additional estimated snowfall of about 15-25 cm is expected before it stops late Friday night along with more snow anticipated over the weekend.
