One person suffered injuries in a crash that left a taxi cab flipped over on its roof near the flyover ramp leading to Highway 8 east.
Police and emergency responders arrived at the scene before 2 a. m. on Monday, at the on-ramp from King Street East to Highway 8 East.
A white taxi was spotted upside down, with its roof nearly crushed. A tow truck was seen around 3:45 a. m., attaching chains to the cab to begin removing it from the road.
Ontario Provincial Police Sgt. Kerry Schmidt confirmed that the cab fell from the Highway 7/8 flyover in an afternoon social media post.
The Waterloo regional police announced a closure of only the ramp from King to Highway 8 shortly after 2 a. m. The police jurisdiction did not extend to the flyover.

Providing an update at 5 a. m. on Monday, OPP stated that the closure had been lifted.
Sgt. Schmidt mentioned that the driver of the cab was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
