Environment Canada has canceled the yellow advisory for freezing drizzle in Ottawa-Gatineau and much of eastern Ontario.
The advisory issued on Sunday morning warned that light ice accumulation could lead to slippery surfaces, noting that these icy conditions might be hard to see.
The forecast from the agency indicated that the freezing drizzle and any light snow should wrap up by early Sunday afternoon.
Cities like Kingston, Belleville, and Quinte West were not included in the southern part of the advisory. Instead, they were under a special weather statement for freezing rain or freezing drizzle, which has also been canceled.
Special weather statements, marked in grey on the weather service’s map, provide information about significant weather events that don’t quite meet warning criteria shown in yellow, orange, or red.
