The holiday season is here, and soon towns and cities will light up with beautiful decorations, glowing lights, and festive energy. If you’re searching for a charming spot to soak in some Christmas spirit, you should visit this delightful small town close to Toronto.

Oakville is a picturesque holiday paradise located by the shores of Lake Ontario. As mentioned in a press release, you can experience “twinkling lights and tree lighting ceremonies to boutique shopping, delicious dining, and exciting holiday events.”

Just under an hour from Toronto, this town offers plenty of attractions that will make you feel like you’re part of a Christmas fairy tale.

Some key events include Light up the Night which starts Downtown Oakville’s Hometown Holiday event, the Santa Claus Parade, Holiday Lights by the Lake, and the Kerr Village Christmas Tree Lighting & Holiday Market.

“Oakville truly shines during the holidays,” Rebecca Edgar, Executive Director of Visit Oakville said in a press release.

“From our festive events to our welcoming atmosphere, there’s something special about celebrating the season here. Whether you’re enjoying our stunning waterfront, shopping at our local boutiques in our charming downtown area or dining at one of our exceptional restaurants, we welcome visitors to come and experience the joy of the holidays in Oakville.”

Other festive activities in Oakville include holiday markets, visits with Santa and live carollers.

Oakville is also buzzing with Taylor Swift-themed fun. The town is hosting several events leading up to the Toronto Eras Tour where you’ll find everything from themed baked goods to paint nights and more.
