Anneta Savvidis passed away surrounded by her family on January 12, 2026, at Hospice Waterloo, at the age of 78. She was the beloved wife of John Savvidis for 57 years.
Anneta was a cherished mother to Bill (Jennifer), Dan (Sofia), and Heather (Nick) Fotiadis.
She was a loving Yiayia to Anneta, Theodore, Yanni, Athan, and Lukas.
Her dear siblings included Anna (late Elefterios) Frengopoulos and George (Theofani) Grammenopoulos.
As a sister-in-law, she is remembered by Magda (Yiorgo) Pascalis and Panayiota (Elefterios) Tsaklidis.
Anneta also leaves behind extended family and friends in Greece and Canada. Anneta was a woman of great integrity who lived with kindness and dedication to her family. She took immense pride in caring for her children and grandchildren, which she saw as her greatest achievement. Her strong faith in Christ guided her life, leaving behind a legacy filled with love and grace. A special thanks goes to Father Anatoliy, the staff at Hospice Waterloo, along with Dr. Fikry and Dr. Tan for their outstanding care. We also appreciate the support from Grand River Hospital during Anneta’s treatment. The funeral service for Anneta will be held at Sts. Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church, located at 527 Bridgeport Road in Kitchener on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Parkview Cemetery.
