Flix Bus has wrapped up its seasonal service to Sauble Beach, Southampton and Port Elgin, but they plan to bring it back next summer.

The bus service was expanded to these popular summer destinations in mid-May and ended on Monday, Sept. 29.

Karina Frayter, head of communications for Flix North America, mentioned via e-mail on Thursday that they are looking forward to returning next summer and will share an official date as the new season approaches.

The seasonal extension was part of the Flix Bus route from Toronto to Owen Sound that started in May 2024. This route links the city with Toronto’s Union Station and includes stops at Meaford, Thornbury, Collingwood and Wasaga Beach.

Frayter stated that ridership on the Owen Sound route has been strong and community feedback has been very positive.

“We’ve seen steady demand on that route, and it remains an important part of our Ontario network,” Frayter said.

A one-way fare from Owen Sound to Toronto for Friday was just under $37 at flixbus. ca. The site shows the bus leaving Toronto Union Station at 7:30 a. m., stopping at Pearson Airport at 8:15 a. m., and arriving at the Owen Sound transit terminal by 11:30 a. m. A return trip was scheduled to depart Owen Sound at 2:45 p. m., reaching Pearson at 6:05 p. m. and Union Station at 6:50 p. m.

Frayter noted that this route is part of a broader strategy to expand the Flix Bus network across Canada, with positive responses from passengers highlighting its importance.

“Communities here benefit from more affordable, convenient travel options,” Frayter said. “We’re continuing to grow our Canadian network, and Grey-Bruce has been an important piece of that story.”
