The investigation began in December 2025, focusing on a crime ring linked to several stolen vehicles, tractor trailers, and auto-related fraud. This led to a search warrant being executed at a home in Brampton on January 8.
During the search, police found three previously reported stolen vehicles with fake Ontario licence plates. The following suspects were arrested and face charges:
Amritpal Khattra, age 28:
* Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
* Possession of Counterfeit Mark (two counts)
* Fail to Comply with Release Order
* Fail to Comply with Probation Order
* Attempted Theft of Motor Vehicle
* Theft Under $5,000
* Possession of Break-in Instruments
* Theft of Motor Vehicle
* Break-and-Enter
Gurtas Bhullar
Gurtas Bhullar, age 33:
* Attempted Theft of Motor Vehicle
* Possession of Break In Instruments
* Fail to Comply with Release Order
* Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
* Theft of Motor Vehicle
* Break-and-Enter
Mandeep Kaur
Mandeep Kaur, age 32:
* Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
* Possession of Counterfeit Mark Khattra and Bhullar are being held until their bail hearing while Mandeep has been released under conditions. At the time they were arrested, both Khattra and Bhullar were already out on court orders related to property crimes.
