Authorities have made two arrests in a drug trafficking case.
In December of 2025, the Peterborough/Northumberland OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) launched an investigation into cocaine and Fentanyl trafficking in the Peterborough region.
On February 5, 2026, officers spotted a suspect leaving a motel. They approached the individual and made an arrest. A second person with them was also taken into custody and was found to be wanted by the Peterborough Police Service.
Two additional individuals in a nearby vehicle were arrested for violating court orders by being together.
Following these arrests, the police seized several items:
• 84 grams of suspected Fentanyl
• 56 grams of suspected cocaine
• 250 suspected Dilaudids
• Multiple cell phones
• $4,880 in Canadian currency
Kody Cummings, age 28 from Peterborough, faces charges of:
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Fentanyl
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Dilaudids
• Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
Megan Casey, age 42 from Peterborough, is charged with:
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Fentanyl
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
