Ontario Provincial Police have confirmed that there was no foul play in the death reported on Tuesday in West Lorne.

Ontario Provincial Police say there was no foul play involved in a death reported Tuesday in West Lorne.

Emergency crews responded around 4:40 p. m. to the incident at a home on Mary Street in the community about 40 kilometres southwest of St. Thomas, police said.

After an investigation involving the OPP, the Office of the Chief Coroner, and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service, police determined that the death was not suspicious.

No further details will be released, police said Friday.

Oxford County man faces additional charges in cemetery thefts

Norfolk OPP have laid additional charges against an Oxford County man related to a series of thefts from local cemeteries.

An officer spotted a vehicle leaving Waterford Greenwood Cemetery on Thompson Road East about 10 kilometres north of Simcoe on Tuesday at 10:30 a. m., according to Norfolk OPP. The unoccupied vehicle was later found on Wellington Street in Waterford with visible stolen brass items and other property inside it.

A 39-year-old man from Oxford County was located and arrested on Thompson Road West by police.

The suspect faced initial charges including mischief, possession of stolen property under $5,000, and theft under $5,000.</P

Officers searched the vehicle on Wednesday and discovered items such as an urn containing human remains. Investigators found that items taken from cemeteries were being sold for scrap metal.</P

The Oxford County man is now facing additional charges including indignity to a dead body, trafficking in stolen goods over $5,000 (including possession with intent to traffic), and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.</P

He is set to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Sept. 23.</P
