A five-year-old has lost their life after an all-terrain vehicle crashed into a tree on private land in Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan Township, leading to an investigation by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).
The Upper Ottawa Valley OPP reported that the incident occurred shortly after 11 a. m. on January 10. Emergency services arrived at the location and discovered an ATV that had collided with a tree.
According to authorities, the child was operating the vehicle alone and was wearing a helmet during the accident. Initially, they were taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital before being airlifted to a regional trauma center, where they later succumbed to their injuries.
An autopsy has been arranged as investigators look into how this tragic collision took place.
