A KLM passenger plane flying across the Atlantic had to make an emergency landing at Glasgow Airport on Thursday.
The flight, KL691, was on its way from Amsterdam to Toronto when it was diverted after apparently declaring a general emergency, also known as a “7700 squawk,” during the flight, according to News. Az and other foreign media outlets.
The Boeing 777 took off from Amsterdam Schiphol around 1:20 p. m. UK time.
About an hour into the trip, flight tracking showed the aircraft circling over Lanarkshire before heading to Glasgow. The plane landed safely around 2:50 p. m.
KLM reported that the diversion was due to a medical emergency. The aircraft continued its journey to Toronto, leaving Glasgow at about 4:15 p. m.
