Playdium, a well-known entertainment chain, is gearing up to open its fifth spot in a popular suburban mall in Ontario next summer.
Cineplex, the parent company, announced on Monday that construction is already in progress at the new Playdium site located at Vaughan Mills shopping centre near Highway 400 and Rutherford Rd. in Vaughan. The grand opening is expected in summer 2026.
The Vaughan Mills Playdium will showcase over 70 games and activities, such as duckpin bowling, wall climbing, and a ropes course. One of the major attractions of this 24,000 square foot venue will be the ‘Gel Blasters Nexus,’ which combines elements of laser tag and paintball.
No visit to Playdium would be complete without grabbing something to eat. The new location will feature a variety of quick-service food options like nachos, burgers, pizza, fries, poutine, desserts, and other hearty meals.
“Opening next summer, Playdium Vaughan Mills is the ultimate playground, with more attractions under one roof than any other Playdium in Canada,” said Ellis Jacob, President and CEO of Cineplex.
“Located in the heart of a vibrant, fast-growing community, we’re creating a destination where friends and families can build lasting memories while enjoying an incredible range of immersive attractions, amusement games and great food.”
Joanne Ross, Ontario Vice President of Retail Property Management at JLL Canada describes this addition as part of their “commitment to creating spaces where people from near and far can come together for shopping, dining, and now unforgettable fun.”
This announcement follows more than four years after the closing of the large Playdium Mississauga location and comes shortly after opening another 22,000-square-foot venue at Toronto’s CF Fairview Mall.
