Students in the Guelph area will need to find other ways to get to school on Tuesday morning, as icy conditions are expected during travel.

Student Transportation Services Wellington-Dufferin has canceled all taxis and buses across service zones for Guelph, Centre Wellington, North Wellington, and Dufferin, including RF Hall.

Even with the cancellation of transportation services in these areas, schools throughout the division will still be open.

A yellow warning for freezing rain is currently in effect for Guelph, with Environment Canada predicting several hours of freezing rain on Tuesday morning into the early evening, potentially mixing with snow and ice pellets at times.

In contrast to similar weather predictions for Waterloo Region, buses and taxi services remain operational for students there.

Due to current conditions and the forecast for the rest of the day, All School taxis and buses are cancelled in ALL ZONES:

People should prepare for ice accumulation between 1 to 5 mm on roads and walkways, which could also lead to local utility outages.
