September 13, 1942 – January 4, 2026

Grace passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at the age of 83.

She is survived by her husband, John Duncan and her children Stuart Duncan (Esther), Viona Duncan (Evan Kleisath), Charlene Duncan (Alastair Findlay), Sarah Rider (Dave), and Rachael Lloyd (Brad). Grace will be fondly remembered by her seven grandchildren Emelia Findlay, Oscar and Clio Duncan, Jaeden and Kieren Kleisath, Otis and Molly Rider. She was predeceased by her siblings David Baker, Muriel Weeden, and Carol Baker.

Born and raised in Toronto, Grace graduated from the University of Toronto’s Household Science Program. Her work as a dietician took her across the country to Edmonton where she worked for several years until she and John decided to start a family and put her degree into practice. Eventually, they settled in Cambridge where they built their home for 54 years.

Her life was dedicated to her family who enjoyed countless knitted and crocheted creations from her. Her children and grandchildren were always on her mind, and she did everything possible for them.

Grace’s love for her family extended to her church community as well. She was actively involved in many church activities. She cherished spending time at Forward Church where she volunteered in the nursery and will be remembered as the “Story Lady” by many young children there. Grace also dedicated years volunteering with Community Support Connects providing rides for those needing transportation to hospital appointments.

Grace was a kind person who always wanted to help others in need. Her warm smile will be lovingly remembered by everyone who knew her.

The family invites friends and guests to join them at Forward Church (Cambridge location), 55 Franklin Blvd, Cambridge, ON for a memorial service on January 24, 2026 starting at 11:15 am with a reception afterward.

We would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Cambridge Memorial Hospital along with the wonderful care providers at Hospice Waterloo Region.

If you wish to express your sympathy, donations can be made to Forward Church (Cambridge location), Hospice Waterloo Region or the Canadian Cancer Society.
