Mc COY, Alan B.

February 18, 1941 – March 10, 2026

On a surprisingly warm winter day, “Big Al Mc Coy” became a legend. He is survived by his devoted wife and partner of 63 years, Janice (nee Gault). Loving father to Scott (Cathy), Hayley “Bird” (Jay) and Jason (Sabrina). Proud grandfather “Pops” to Sara, Jayne, Nick, and Diana. Adored great-grandfather to Brooke and Lexi. Alan was preceded in death by his sister Norma Mc Cracken (Lyle).

He held lifetime membership with the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants and Essex Golf and Country Club. Al had a knack for detail and possessed one of the most organized minds many knew. He found joy in golf, curling, walking his dogs, enjoying a nice glass of red wine, and spending quality time with his loving family.

Cremation has already taken place. Memorial Visitation will take place at 11:00 am on Monday, March 16, 2026 at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home – South Chapel (3048 Dougall Ave., 519-253-7236) until the Memorial Service begins in the chapel at 12:00 noon.

The family would appreciate charitable donations made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Windsor / Essex County or a charity of your choice.
