Donald Haubold Dragovich OBITUARY
Donald Haubold Dragovich was born on April 2, 1934, in Long Beach, California, and passed away at his home in Ontario, California, on January 19, 2026, at age 91. He is survived by his wife of over 70 years, Shirleyann; their daughter, De Anna; granddaughters Alanna and Shannon; and nieces Christina and Jackie. He was preceded in death by his sister, Darlene. Donald started working at the young age of 10 by delivering newspapers for the Long Beach Press-Telegram. In his twenties, he served as a military policeman in the U. S. Army. Later on, he moved into healthcare and trained as an X-ray technician. Donald spent 28 years running Overland Portable X-Ray Service with his wife and daughter. A true lifelong learner, he received a B. A. in Social Sciences and History from Cal State LA during the 1960s and went on to earn a teaching credential from Cal Poly Pomona in the 1990s when many of his peers were enjoying retirement. He worked as a substitute teacher and per diem X-ray technician until he turned 82. Above all else, Donald valued his family deeply. He often said that his greatest legacy was the love he shared with Shirleyann-his best friend and wife-his daughter De Anna, and his granddaughters whom he inspired to be generous and develop a lifelong love for learning. Shirleyann will miss her “Donzy,” De Anna her “Dad,” and Alanna and Shannon their dear “Grandpa Donald Duck.”Source link
