La Salle police have reached out to the Ontario Provincial Police for assistance in their investigation of the town’s first homicide in four years.
On the evening of March 3, officers responded to a residence on Todd Lane, where they discovered a woman who had suffered multiple stab wounds. The victim, identified as 43-year-old Nancy Grewal, later died from her injuries at Windsor Regional Hospital.
Authorities have executed search warrants at both the residence on Todd Lane and Grewal’s home in Windsor. The people living at the Todd Lane location are not considered suspects in this case.
The investigation is ongoing under the supervision of the OPP Criminal Investigations Branch, with support from the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
Police continue to seek any dashcam or surveillance footage that may show a vehicle parked on a gravel laneway on the north side of Todd Lane at 10th Street between 8:45 p. m. and 9:30 p. m.
Investigators also want to speak with anyone who noticed any vehicles parked in that laneway before March 3.
