Peel Regional Police (PRP) have taken two brothers from Mississauga into custody as part of an organized auto theft investigation, seizing 13 stolen vehicles valued at over $800,000 and filing 55 charges.

The inquiry started in October 2025 and wrapped up in March 2026 with search warrants executed at two homes in Mississauga. Authorities say the operation focused on a coordinated crime group involved in numerous vehicle thefts throughout the area.

The arrested individuals are Sulman Dar, 28, and Shahroz Dar, 24, both residents of Mississauga. Investigators report that both were already under court-imposed release orders linked to robbery and property crimes when they were arrested.

Sulman Dar is facing 47 charges, which include 24 counts for possession of property obtained through crime and 23 counts of failing to adhere to a release order.

Shahroz Dar is charged with seven offenses, including motor vehicle theft, possession of property obtained through crime, and failing to comply with a release order. Both men are being held pending their bail hearings.

Authorities state that this operation is part of a larger effort against auto theft, which has resulted in nearly a 15 percent drop in stolen vehicles across Peel Region so far in 2026 compared to the same time last year.

“Auto theft remains a priority for Peel Regional Police,” said Deputy Chief Marc Andrews in a statement. “Organized crime groups that target our communities for profit will be identified, disrupted, and dismantled. We will continue to hold those responsible fully accountable for their criminal actions.”

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact PRP or provide tips anonymously through Peel Crime Stoppers.
