Durham police have shared images of four individuals wanted for their involvement in at least 20 break-and-enters in Whitby, Ont.

Authorities are on the lookout for four suspects linked to a series of at least 20 break-and-enters that have taken place in Whitby since last year.

In a statement released on Monday, police revealed that an investigation named “Project Sonoma” was initiated between Nov. 2025 and Feb. 2026 to target a “small organized crime group.”

Investigators believe that four men were part of this group, entering homes by breaking rear sliding glass doors and focusing on master bedrooms for valuable items.

The suspects are identified as Ion Dulceanu, 25, from Toronto; Madalin-Florin Moldoveanu, 31, also from Toronto; Ionel Dumitru, 52, from Toronto; and Victor Duduianu, 55, from Oshawa. All four are wanted on 20 counts of break-and-enter.

Additionally, these men face charges related to similar incidents reported by other police services across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), according to officials.

Moldoveanu, Dulceanu, and Duduianu each face at least 21 charges with Halton police and at least 39 charges with Toronto police. Meanwhile, Dumitru and Duduianu have a minimum of six charges with York police. The legal proceedings surrounding these charges have not yet occurred in court.

Police are urging the men to get legal counsel and turn themselves into authorities.

“Anyone who is found to be assisting these suspects to evade police is guilty of an offence under the Criminal Code of Canada and will be prosecuted to the full extent,” police warned.

Anyone with information is encouraged to reach out to police at 1-888-579-1520, ext. 1832 or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously.
