March 6, 1980 – December 30, 2025
Kathleen Lamarche was born on March 6, 1980, in Kingston, Ontario. She was the caring daughter of John Lamarche and Carol Lamarche (née Rochefort), and the beloved sister of Laura Lamarche (James Greatrex). She shared a deep bond with Simon Pottery as her partner and was a devoted mother to her adored daughter, Hazel Pottery-who meant everything to her.
Family, both immediate and extended, played a vital role in Kathleen’s life. She will be fondly remembered by her aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends who were drawn to her kindness, humor, and openness. Kathleen cherished connections and togetherness; she had an incredible knack for making everyone feel included and loved.
Kathleen was truly creative! Her interests spanned art, art history, design, fashion, music, photography and film. She approached life with curiosity and imagination. Whether working alongside thirty kindergarteners or creating large canvases and delicate watercolor paintings, her artistic flair shone through.
She was kind-hearted and empathetic-funny too-and open with everyone she encountered. Kathleen brought wisdom, curiosity, and vibrancy wherever she went while radiating warmth and authenticity.
An elementary school teacher for nearly twenty years, Kathleen was passionate about education. The children and families she served were at the center of all she did; she infused curiosity and creativity into every lesson. Always eager to learn more herself-her classroom doors were open to colleagues, families, and students alike.
Kathleen had a love for travel that took her to special places like Egypt. The water-the beach-and the sea were where she found joy-a true source of peace for her.
After battling breast cancer for five years following her diagnosis, Kathleen faced this challenge with bravery along with strength and grace while surrounded by the love of family members close to her.
A celebration of Kathleen’s life will happen at a later date. More details will be provided soon.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations in Kathleen’s memory to the University Hospitals Kingston Foundation or Breast Cancer Canada.
