A man lost his life in a crash north of Oshawa over the weekend.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene of the two-vehicle accident on Highway 7/12 close to Fourth Line in Port Perry shortly before 6 a. m. on Sunday, according to the Ontario Provincial Police.
The preliminary investigation suggests that two cars were traveling in opposite directions when they collided head-on, as reported by the OPP.
Authorities stated that a 53-year-old man from Sunderland was declared dead at the scene. A 32-year-old man from Innisfil was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, while a 35-year-old man from North York was airlifted to a regional trauma center due to serious injuries, police said.
All northbound and southbound lanes of Highway 7/12 in Port Perry were shut down for investigation on Sunday morning.
