South Bruce OPP says Freeway 21 between Kincardine and Amberley, and Freeway 9 between Kincardine and Walkerton is now open. Freeway 21 between Kincardine and Port Elgin is within the strategy of reopening.

Ontario Provincial Police in West Area are reminding residents that a number of roads stay closed as a winter storm continues to trigger harmful driving circumstances.

Police say heavy snow, blowing snow, and poor visibility are making journey unsafe in lots of areas. As of early this morning, a number of roads throughout Huron and Perth counties have been closed to guard public security. In Huron County, closures embrace components of Bruce Highway 7, County Highway 83 between Bluewater Freeway and Exeter, Freeway 4 between Exeter and Clinton and between Wingham and Teeswater, and Freeway 21 from Amberley to Port Elgin. In Perth County, closures embrace Line 33, Wilmot Easthope Highway, sections of Freeway 23, and components of Perth Highway 107 and Perth Highway 131.

OPP are asking drivers to keep away from travelling until it’s completely mandatory. Circumstances can change shortly, and even quick journeys can turn out to be harmful. Police say staying off the roads helps hold drivers protected and permits emergency crews and highway employees to do their jobs.

Residents are inspired to test Municipal 511 or Ontario 511 for the most recent highway closure updates and to watch Setting Canada for present climate alerts. Police say updates will likely be shared as circumstances change.

With winter climate persevering with to influence the area, OPP remind everybody to remain protected and keep away from journey each time attainable.
