It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Wilfred Eugene Canada aka “Big Wil”, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who left this world peacefully on February 28, 2025, at the age of 62. Wilfred was born on August 1, 1962, in San Antonio, Texas, and spent his life embodying the spirit of kindness and love that defined him. Wilfred, affectionately known by many as a “gentle giant,” was a devoted husband to his loving wife, Nancy, with whom he shared 30 beautiful years of marriage. Together, they created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and cherished memories. As a dedicated father and doting grandfather, Wilfred found immense joy in family camping and fishing trips, often renting cabins at the serene Lake of the Woods in Pinetop, where countless happy moments were woven into the fabric of their lives. For those who knew him, Wilfred’s memorable personality left an indelible mark, bringing light and laughter to those around him. To those who knew him, he was not only a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan but also a man whose presence was as commanding as it was comforting-many would say he looked as if he could have played for the team himself. Wilfred’s spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those he loved. He leaves behind his beloved spouse, Nancy; his cherished children; and his adored grandchildren, all of whom will forever carry his love and legacy with them. As we bid farewell to this extraordinary soul, we celebrate the joy and warmth Wilfred has brought into our lives. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, March 15th, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at the American Legion Post #37, 290 W. Iowa St., Holbrook, Arizona. May Wilfred rest in eternal peace, forever remembered and loved.
