This weekend, the highest eight Beneath-20 (U20) males’s and girls’s curling groups from throughout the province will compete right here in Kingston for an opportunity to symbolize Ontario on the 2025 New Holland Canadian U20 championships.

The round-robin championship might be held on the Royal Kingston Curling Membership, 130 Days Highway, from Wednesday, Jan. 29 to Sunday, Feb. 2, 2025. In line with a launch from Go to Kingston (Tourism Kingston), two ladies’s and two males’s groups will advance to the nationwide championships.

The occasion is open to athletes below the age of 21 as of June 30, 2025. A number of of those groups are nonetheless eligible to compete on the U18 degree, in response to the discharge.

“The women’s field includes the top four U18 teams in Ontario ranked highest in the Trillium Team Ranking System (TTRS), Curling Ontario’s points system that gives teams an opportunity to earn direct entry to provincial championships by participating in sanctioned events throughout the season,” Go to Kingston said.

“The men’s field has two U18 teams and six U20 teams, including the top-ranked teams in TTRS points.”

In line with the discharge, the Ontario Curling Council has chosen 4 of those groups for its Subsequent Gen Program, designed to assist athletes who’ve confirmed aggressive success over time, and to assist them advance alongside the Lengthy-Time period Athlete Improvement pathway as people and groups. The primary draw takes place Wednesday at 2:30 p.m., adopted by the opening ceremonies at 6 p.m. Three attracts will happen on Thursday and Friday, at 10 a.m., 2:30 p.m., and seven p.m. Saturday’s attracts are at 10 a.m. and a couple of:30 p.m., with tiebreakers (if mandatory) at 8 p.m. The semi-finals happen on Sunday at 9 a.m. and the finals at 1:30 p.m. Video games are 10 ends with no time-outs.

Go to Kingston stated that spectators are welcome and admission and parking are free.

“Come on out and watch the future of Canadian curling as Ontario’s top Under-20 curling teams compete for a chance to represent Ontario at the 2025 New Holland Canadian U20 championships March 22-30 in Summerside, PEI,” the tourism group concluded.
