Born in 1941, and raised on a farm close to Kamsack, SK, Pat discovered the worth of arduous work from a younger age, whereas having many adventures along with his 5 older siblings. He attended the College of Saskatchewan the place he earned a Bachelor of Schooling, and later obtained a Grasp of Schooling from Gonzaga College in Spokane.

He additionally leaves behind 16 grandchildren, John, Lucy, Clare, Benedict (Grace), Peter, Gemma, and Andrew Merkowsky; Julia (Ben) Greaves, Isaac Paccagnan, Cecilia, Maximilian, and Veronica McLaughlin; and Theresa, Patrick, Dominic, and Kateri Wasch; in addition to one great-grandchild on the best way, and lots of nieces and nephews.
