Daylight saving time is coming to an end once again.
Residents of Chatham-Kent will need to set their clocks back by one hour at 2 a. m. this Sunday.
This change won’t be uniform across Ontario. Recently, it was revealed that some regions in the province, mainly those near the Manitoba border, will adopt permanent daylight saving time starting November 1.
This means Northwestern Ontario and Manitoba will be an hour ahead of the rest of Ontario and neighboring provinces until the next time change in spring.
In 2020, Ontario passed legislation aimed at making daylight saving time permanent throughout the province; however, that has been delayed to keep in sync with Quebec and New York.
Fire departments are reminding everyone to check their smoke and carbon monoxide detectors as they adjust their clocks.
