A 17-year-old boy has been charged following a deadly single-vehicle crash that took place in the Guelph, Ont., area over a year ago.
Ontario Provincial Police in Wellington County received a call about the collision on Oct. 30, 2025, around 4 p. m. in Guelph-Eramosa Township.

An 18-year-old male was declared dead at the scene due to the crash, while a 16-year-old male was taken to a trauma center in Hamilton with injuries that were not life-threatening.
Several months later, on Sept. 24, 2026, a 17-year-old from Guelph was arrested by Wellington County OPP and charged with dangerous operation causing death.

The teen has since been released from police custody and is set to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph at a later date. A specific date hasn’t been established yet.

According to the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the teen’s identity won’t be revealed.
